Geochemical study of the early cretaceous Fahliyan oil reservoir in the northwest Persian Gulf

Abstract Three crude oil samples from the Fahliyan Formation in ‘KG’ and ‘F’ fields northwest Persian Gulf, namely KG-031, F9A-3H F15-3H for geochemical study. In this study, physicochemical properties, gas chromatography (GC, GC Mass) (Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis) DHA analyses collected oils were carried out. The API, Trace Element (Ni, V) S% parameters indicated that was generated a source rock which deposited reducing environment condition with carbonate-shale compound lithology. Moreover, low pour point, higher viscosity of “KG” sample confirmed existence medium characteristics field. addition, outcomes GC, GC–MS are more aromatic compared oil; while biomarkers revealed reservoir is highly mature formed carbonate containing types II, III kerogen. Thus, sterane/hopane (C 24 /C 23 C 22 21 ratios) originated rocks an anoxic to dysoxic environment, consistent above analyses. It identified age early Cretaceous late Jurassic. can be reported both same have almost physical will production strategy.
